LYRICS: Taking on Water Sailing a restless sea From a memory A fantasy The wind carries Into white water Far from the islands Don't you know you're Never going to get to France Mary Queen of chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you Walking on foreign ground Like a shadow Roaming in far off Territory Over your shoulder Stories unfold you're searching for sanctuary you know you're Never going to get to France Mary Queen of chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you I see a picture by the lamp's flicker Isn't it strange How dreams fade and shimmer Never going to get to France Mary Queen of chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you I see a picture by the lamp's flicker Isn't it strange how dreams fade and shimmer Never going to get to France Mary Queen of chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you . sorry ..but watch the effort put in by each performer !!!
  2. Teon Says:
I think Maggie Reilly's got that typically Paul Potts- Effect: when you see her, you don't think she can sing, when you hear her, you know something else...I think it's great...
  3. Jannae Says:
I'm so nostalgic when I listen this and other 80's songs!!!

Maddy could sing the hell out of this song. She has a better voice than Maggie. Hell, she has a better voice than almost anyone I can name.
  6. TARAN Says:
To bartekpce. Much to my horror, it's already done (watch Novaspace cover) :p
  7. Martell Says:
bigianbee, some do, :) watch?v=i1MVDQUFPbc Perhaps more will appreciate the historic context of the story if people would just stop ruining good music by remixing them with Euro or trance-like percussions to overshadow the lyrics (as in the Novaspace cover), :)
  8. MIMIS Says:

It was the norm, and it really used to give me the sh*ts. Still does. The crazy thing is that they _were_ capable of going live, not just Maggie. There is some lovely stuff on the Montreaux DVD, predates this song unfortunately. Maggies voice is gorgeous still, listen to her Rowan album (cdBaby)
